Ronald G. Kane
Date of Death: February 17, 2017

On Friday, February 17, 2017, Ronald Gordon Kane embarked on that next great adventure. Ron was a native Washingtonian. He was a "lifer" (Kindergarten through 12th grade) at the Sidwell Friends School where he performed well both in and out of the classroom, earning All-Met distinctions in both baseball and soccer. Ron matriculated at the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, earning a degree in finance and four varsity letters as a member of the men's Division I soccer team. Upon completing his collegiate studies, Ron returned to Washington, D.C. to pursue a law degree from the American University Washington College of Law. Ron enjoyed a distinguished, 35 year career focusing on real estate litigation but heard the siren song of the open road and retired in 2000 to travel the United States in motor coaches of ever growing length and complexity with his wife, Linda Brylawski Kane. Together, the happy couple crisscrossed the United States and Canada numerous times, relishing the many new friendships they forged on the road, the breathtaking vistas of the various National Parks they visited, acquiring unique pieces from artists wherever they stopped, and dining at local establishments known for their native fare. It was a life well lived. Ron is survived by his loving wife of nearly 28 years, Linda Brylawski Kane; a daughter Nicole Kane Gurland (Joshua) of Bethesda, Maryland; a son, Kevin I. Kane (Jill) of Rockville, Maryland; stepdaughter, Alexis Fogel Carpinteri (Paul) of Weston, Florida; a stepson, D. Brandon Fogel (Todd) of Chicago, Illinois; seven granddaughters, and one grandson. The family will be receiving guests at Ron's favorite restaurant, The Pines of Rome, beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017. All are welcome.
