The Honorable Barry A. Hamilton
September 23, 1947 -May 24, 2017
Of Rockville, Maryland passed away on May 24, 2017 following a battle with cancer. Born September 23, 1947 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he graduated from the McDonogh School, earned a Bachelor's Degree from Columbia University and a JD from New York University.
He played saxophone in the United States Army Band during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a prosecutor in the Montgomery County State's Attorneys office for 20 years before serving as a Judge in the District Court for Montgomery County, Maryland until his retirement in April, 2017.
Barry had a passion for musical theater and cherished his time music directing and playing the piano for numerous organizations throughout the Washington, DC area as well as Broadway Artists Alliance in New York City.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane; daughter Erica (Nathan Hilburger); son Brett; and grandchildren Avery and Michael.
A celebration of Barry's life will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 11 a.m. at the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland (50 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland 20850).
