New Practitioner Section
Thank you to all those who joined us and the Social Committee for Trivia Night in October. Be on the lookout for future trivia nights so you can take home that shiny trophy! We appreciate all those who came out on a rainy night to the New Practitioners Section Meet-and-Greet on November 7th. It was great to meet so many of you and learn about your ideas for the rest of the bar year.
This month, the New Practitioner Section is pleased to be sponsoring the Bar Association’s Holiday Toy Drive! All toys and monetary donations will be going to the Montgomery County Family Justice Center. The FJC’s mission is to promote safety, well-being, and healing for victims of family violence. Any toys and donations will go a long way in ensuring children being served by the FJC can have a brighter holiday season.
Donations of unwrapped toys or monetary donations inside an envelope can be dropped off at Bar Headquarters, Miller, Miller & Canby in Rockville or Lerch Early & Brewer in Bethesda. If you would like to make an electronic money donation, please contact either of us at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information! Please take a small amount of time to bring some cheer to those going through a difficult time.
Have questions, comments, or suggestions? Share them with us at any time. We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events in 2020! Have a great holiday season!
The Chamber Chats series continues with The Honorable Sharon V. Burrell hosting the December 2019 Chat.
Judge Burrell has been an Associate Judge in the Circuit Court since October 2008. Judge Burrell is currently assigned to the Family Rotation. Please join us on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. for a brown-bag lunch in Courtroom 3F (South Tower, 3rd Floor) and learn from one of Montgomery County’s well-regarded judges. Please feel free to contact me at
email@example.com with any suggestions, questions, or comments regarding the Chamber Chats series. Your feedback is incredibly helpful to make sure the Chats are most beneficial to you and your practice. On behalf of the New Practitioners Section, special thanks to Judge Lease for hosting an excellent Chat in November, as well as Jennifer Littlejohn, Judge Lease's Administrative Assistant, for supporting the coordination of the event.

The New Practitioners' Section is excited to be continuing its Mentor-Mentee program. It is an excellent way for young lawyers to learn more about the practice of law in the area in which they are interested, and for experienced lawyers to impart some of their well-learned wisdom. If you would like to participate in the program either as a mentee or a mentor (at least 7 years in practice) please email me at
email@example.com and include your name, employment status, number of years in practice, and the type of law you practice or are interested in practicing.
Applications to become a mentor or a mentee are available at http://www.barmont.org/?164. They can be submitted to Paul J. Havenstein.
