Intellectual Property & Technology Law Section
The Intellectual Property and Technology Law Section Co-Chair, Raymond Van Dyke, is giving a CLE presentation at the Bar Association on May 8, 2019 entitled “An Introduction to Intellectual Property: The Basic Tools for You to Know,” which will be a primer on the basic principles of IP for beginners to recognize these rights and understand their importance. In particular, he will discuss patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets, and include updates on current case law in each area, including some recent rule changes in the United States Patent & Trademark Office regarding the eligibility of software and high-tech innovations for patent protection, which has been a major and controversial issue for over a decade.
Ray will also reprise his annual update at the Annual Meeting on May 31, 2019 at 10 AM in Salon C. His topic is “Intellectual Property: the Basics and an Update for 2019,” which will include the above topics but with more emphasis on the recent developments.
Ray and Co-Chair Michael Greenberg welcome suggestions, particularly from other members of the Section.
If you have possible topics for Section Meetings or CLE Seminars, please contact Ray Van Dyke or Michael L. Greenberg to discuss.
