This organization provides free disability representation services to residents of the state of Maryland. Primarily, the program is designed to help disabled individuals qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability (SSDI) benefits. MAXIMUS SSI Advocacy provides assistance to its clients once an individual is approved for state cash assistance and the local department of social services refers the individual to the program. To qualify for this program, an individual must be eligible for cash benefits from the state's TDAP, TCA, PAA or Foster Care programs, and a physician must say an individual is unable to work. A physician must confirm that the impairment or condition must last, or continue to last, for 12 months or more or possibly result in death.
