The expert witness may be the only effective way to present technical evidence to the court.  But, effectively using a technical expert witness can sometimes be a challenging experience.  This seminar will review the effective use of the technical expert and how to create a powerful expert witness for your case.  A Motion in Limine can be a home run for your side if the court denies the opposing expert an opportunity to present testimony.  This program will discuss many aspects of expert witness testimony with special emphasis on working with the witness in preparation for trial testimony.  Credibility is everything in expert testimony and knowing how to avoid having your expert discredited can be critical.  Presenting the expert opinion and the order of proof can be strategic and careful planning should be done.  Presenting the conclusion before the underlying facts or data and presenting an opinion on the ultimate issue will be discussed.  A review of Maryland law regarding expert testimony will be presented and discussed in an interactive forum.
