Michael S. Fried
April 3, 1951 - July 13, 2016
Passed away surrounded by his family in Washington, DC on July 13, 2016 of cancer. Michael was born on April 3, 1951, in New York City, to Ethyl and David. He grew up in Lakewood, NJ, and is survived by his three siblings, Barbara Weese (Jim), Lois Fried and Ken Fried (Isaree); children, Zachary (Ali) and Spencer (Emily); father, David; partner, Allison Sloan; grandchildren, Alex, Zoe and Isabella; nieces, Brooke and Harleigh and nephew, Scott.
Michael dedicated his life to his family, his loving partner, Allison, and his law practice. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, his law and business degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Laws in Taxation degree from New York University.
Michael and his sons shared a special connection that included father-son weekends at Camp Takajo, weekly dinners, fishing expeditions (he is the only Fried to have caught a Blue Marlin), Las Vegas trips, mini-golf (he won his last round on Father''s Day), Wizards games, and all day Sunday football hangouts where he secretly rooted for the Redskins while cheering for all other NFC East teams.
Funeral service Sunday, July 17, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb Street, NW, Washington, DC. The family will receive guests at the residence of Lois Fried immediately following the service. Donations in Michael''s memory may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at PanCan.org.
