The Honorable Thomas A. Lohm
June 20, 1922 – June 24, 2015
Chief Administrative Judge,
District Court for Montgomery County, MD (1983-92)
On June 24, 2015, the devoted husband of Helen Glidden Lohm passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's - a disease that took his memory, but not his sense of humor. He is survived and grieved by his only remaining living daughter, Sande Riesett and son-in-law Don Riesett. He will also be missed by two grandkitties, Little Man and Bugsy. A graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, he served in the Navy during WWII and graduated from George Washington University and George Washington University School of Law, before being admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1954. Throughout his long career as a prosecutor, criminal defense attorney and sitting judge, he advocated on behalf of victims and took an even harder line if those victims were women or animals. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 30 at 1 p.m. at Mercy Ridge, 2525 Pot Spring Road, Timonium, MD.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of his lifelong love of everything on four paws, contributions may be made to BARCS, 301 Stockholm Street, Baltimore, MD 21230, baltimoreanimalshelter.org.
