Collaborative Law Section

Please, note that all of our meetings take place from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. in the BAMC Conference Room (upstairs), unless otherwise specified.

Our generous sponsor, Jeanne Koerber of RE/MAX Success, will provide a free lunch. It is important that we give Jeanne at least 24-hour notice of the number attending to make sure there is food for everyone. Email: rah2@hayden-legal.com or contact any of the co-chairs listed to the right with your RSVP. You are, of course, welcome to bring your own brown bag lunch, if you prefer to do so or are unable to send in your RSVP 24 hours before the meeting.

Our next meeting of the year will take place from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, weather permitting.  We will introduce our speaker, Doug Braunstein, who will share his knowledge and experiences with us about Property and Business Valuation in Collaborative Cases.  We are committed to providing useful information and resources to enable you to develop and expand your collaborative practice. To that end, we will be discussing registration details for the upcoming collaborative law training offered by MCPC for those interested in attending this March.

We continue to welcome your ideas and suggestions about topics for discussion and future speakers at our meetings, CLEs and roundtable discussions on ideas for launching, managing, and growing a Collaborative Law practice.  We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to seeing YOU at our February and subsequent meetings. In addition, we strongly encourage you to invite your Partners, Associates, Mentors, Mentees, colleagues, and fellow practitioners to our meetings. Please, encourage and invite any collaboratively trained professional who would like to contribute to the Collaborative Practice movement by sharing their knowledge and experiences with Section members.

Collaborative Law Practice is interdisciplinary and incorporates not only attorneys, but financial neutrals, business valuation, mental health professionals, real estate agents and more. It equips disputing parties to engage in candid and effective out-of-court communication and empowers them to find their voices in order to craft voluntary, durable and mutually satisfactory solutions.  To learn more, please, visit:  https://collablawmaryland.org

Announcement:

The next three-day collaborative training opportunity will take place in Columbia in March. Please, contact LJ Pelham at info@collaborativeprojectmd.org if you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity.  Additional details will be posted on the CDRP website under “upcoming events” and discussed at our lunch meeting.
