Phillip Leventhal died of a massive heart attack on Friday, October 8, 2004 in Hagerstown, Maryland. He went to Hagerstown to meet with a realtor and when the realtor arrived, he discovered Phil already deceased.
The funeral service was held in Norfolk, Virginia on October 11, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Leventhal, his daughter Andrea Anderson, grandson Ethan Anderson and his stepson, Adam Ginsberg.
Phil was admitted to practice law on June 14, 1963 and was involved throughout the years on the following committees and sections: Criminal Law Section, Senior Lawyers Section, Fee Dispute Resolution Committee, Legislation Committee, Pro Bono Committee, Library Committee, Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and the Special Outreach Committee.
