VASAP assists clients in collaboration with the police, state's attorney's office, and other county agencies; victims may also be accompanied to court by a representative of VASAP. The Program's services include a telephone crisis line, walk-in crisis counseling, and general information regarding crimes and sexual assault, and referrals. The program also offers counseling, psychiatric treatment and evaluation, support groups, assistance through the criminal justice system, and education. No referral is required. Twenty-four hour crisis services are provided through the Montgomery County Crisis Center. VASAP provide victim and court assistance services during business hours and counseling services by appointment. There is no fee for first time counseling sessions however, fees are based on sliding scale for ongoing treatment. There is no fee for court and victim assistance services, including assistance in filing applications for Criminal Corporation Funds.
