Jeanne was a native New Yorker; she lived in Manhattan part of her life. Jeanne also lived in France with her family.
Her father Robert Asherman died six years to the day Jeanne left us. He also died of cancer.

Steven Asherman her brother & Penny Asherman (Steven’s wife). Michael Asherman her brother, Cathy Asherman (his wife) and their two children Julia & Laura.
Jeanne left home at the age of seventeen with a backpack & pup tent to see the world. She spent several years traveling across Europe, Asia & Africa. During her adventure Jeanne lived in a mud hut with the Masai and she studied Buddhism in a monastery in Cambodia where she taught English to orphan children. Returning to the States, Jeanne enrolled in California State University, Long Beach, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Then entered Law school at the University of California where she earned the Degree of Juris Doctor. Later at Georgetown University Law School Jeanne earned the degree of “Salutem in Domino”, an advanced degree in International Law.
Jeanne was admitted to the Bar in California, Washington DC, New York and Maryland. For most of her life Jeanne ran a very small, one-person law office. She worked for the disadvantaged. Jeanne was also a Mediator in Maryland and Washington DC.
