BAMC Softball League 2016 Champions, Stein Sperling,
p
ose after their playoff victory on August 3, 2016.

Last month, the Bar Association of Montgomery County (“BAMC”) Softball League concluded another great season.  This year’s competitors included the Circuit Court’s Law Clerks, Paley Rothman and Lerch, Early & Brewer (the “Paley Ale Brewers”), Shulman Rogers, Offit Kurman, Planet Depos and Stein Sperling.  The regular season lasted eleven weeks, with Stein Sperling and Planet Depos having the best records going into the playoffs.

All six teams participated in the playoffs, which took on a double elimination-style tournament.  After losing to the Paley Ale Brewers earlier in the tournament, Stein Sperling returned in their double-elimination game and overcame an early deficit to defeat Offit Kurman.  The win advanced Stein Sperling to the championship game versus Paley Ale.  The final game was a fitting end to the 2016 season, where Stein Sperling and Paley Ale faced off eight times in nine weeks, nearly splitting the wins in the regular season.  In the Championship, Stein Sperling’s fielding and a few home runs led the team to victory with a final score of 11-2.  Congratulations to our champs, Stein Sperling, and all the teams for an excellent 2016 BAMC Softball League season.

Following the playoffs, players from across the State convened for the 24th Annual Maryland Inter-County/Baltimore City Bar Association Softball Tournament.  Captain Andre Forte led a team made up of some of BAMC’s top players.  The BAMC All-Stars lost to a very strong Baltimore City team that ultimately went on to win the tournament.  BAMC sadly fell again to Anne Arundel County in the double-elimination match.  Thank you to all of our All-Stars for your participation.
