Community Outreach Committee
A special event for the Special Olympics…last month’s Third Annual Inspiration Walk was a huge success! Thank you to all the participants, volunteers, and individuals who donated their time, energy and monetary contributions to this worthwhile cause. The Inspiration Walk was a massive undertaking and its success confirmed our continued involvement with the Special Olympics! The funds we raised will be used to provide year-round sports and leadership programs through the Special Olympics for Montgomery County children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. We offer a special thanks to Georgetown Prep for hosting and providing volunteers. The Inspiration Walk was successful because of everyone’s assistance, participation, and enthusiasm, without which we would have been left uninspired—Thank you for your inspiration! We are already looking forward to next year’s Inspiration Walk!!!
The Community Outreach Section is thrilled to be sponsoring our first Halloween Costume Drive! We are collecting gently-used or new children’s Halloween costumes through Monday, October 27, 2014. All costumes will be donated to The National Center for Children and Families in Maryland. Please drop all donations off at the BAMC Bar Building or contact one of the Section Chairs, Emily Gelmann and Revee Walters, by October 24, 2014 to schedule a pick up. Donate your once-worn costumes, and make a child’s Halloween dreams come true!
If you have any thoughts or comments for the Committee, please contact Emily Gelmann at firstname.lastname@example.org or Revee Walters at email@example.com.
