Callista M. Freedman
September 28, 1960 - July 3, 2013
Callista M. Freedman passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2013. Callista received her undergraduate degree in Personnel and Labor Relations from the University of Maryland, College Park. After working in human resources for several years, Callista returned to school and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore. She worked for several small law firms and then for the Maryland Transit Administration for many years. In 2010, she co-founded the firm Freedman & Friedman, LLC, where her practice included business and employment law. Callista also regularly served as an arbitrator.
Callista was a zealous advocate for her clients, a consummate entertainer and a loyal and steadfast friend and colleague. She enjoyed camping, puzzles, word games and sewing. Many of her friends and family carry original “Callista Creations.” She will be missed by all who knew her and had the privilege to work with her.
Callista is survived by her husband Mark, her son Christopher, her parents Tom and Gwen Harden, sisters Pamela and Gale and brother David, several nephews and a niece and a host of friends and colleagues. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
