Gordon R. Kindness
September 7, 1925 – April 13, 2003 

Mr. Gordon Robertson Kindness, 77, of New Market, died Sunday, April 13, at Washington Hospital Center.

He was the husband of Isabella C. Monaghan Kindness, his wife of 51 years.

Born Sept. 7, 1925, in Knoxville, Tenn., he was a son of the late Norman and Christina Gunn Kindness.

Mr. Kindness served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

In 1950, he graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor of arts degree in history, earning his law degree and juris doctorate from George Washington University in 1954.  In 1963, already a long-time member of the Montgomery County and American Bar associations, Mr. Kindness qualified as attorney and counselor of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Sheila C. Tobey of Gettysburg, Pa., and Lynn Robb Kindness of Frederick; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Interment was private.
