This office has investigators, who may also be attorneys, on staff and provides guidance and assistance concerning consumer issues and consumer credit counseling. The organization handles disputes between consumers and merchants. Investigators also handle and resolve complaints; if they cannot resolve the dispute, the office sends individuals to small claims court. The organization does not handle all legal issues and will make referrals. Additionally, they do not represent individual consumers, but rather just investigate complaints. There is a comprehensive list of consumer protection information available on their website. Services are free to Montgomery County residents.
